Landfall

--

soft and seismic

gravitational stillness

i am rain over earth

a slow unfolding

populates seeds

over time

and season after season

i love the shared mystery

our endless dense

demesne

tireless tracing of your edges

whole

against my swirling vast

anointing exposed

inner depths

you left too-long abandoned

undiscovered

unassuming terraform

the earth never questions

why sky storms venerate her

with precise and reckless deluge

but you do

(are you real? why even worship here?)

in your sacred caverns

the pyres are lit

the passageways are swept

cenotes teem and swell

dark

cool

overflow

to quench seeker’s lips

prepare the sacrifice.

commit the rite.

and dance

in the rain

with me.
